I'm 28 year old veteran. Not gatekeeping but if you don't make it in education/ late teens you are mostly fucked. How many people do you know that start developing lifelong friendship in mid 20s and beyond? Very few.
I've accepted my loneliness. I made that trade off when educationmaxxing and careermaxxing. I couldn't make it in the former because my 'friends' did not value education and I chose to study rather than chill.
I careermaxxed thinking I'd start afresh in new city but just ended up feeling more alone. I get money out of it but that's about it.
One thing I know for sure is even those who are social circlelmaxxed things get lonely after they leave education too. By their late 20s their reminiscing about their uni days, but by then some decide to have kids and need for social circle is removed.
