How to ask my orthodontist for a palate expander

Hi I’m 17.5 years old and wanted to ask the community for a way to convince my orthodontist to give me a palate expansion as I’m chopped and I want to save my bloodline and one way to ascend is a palate expander as I’m on braces rn because I have a right tilt in my smile now I told my orthodontist that I want a palate expander he told me that It will cause an imbalance now for me I have been breathing through my nose my whole life and I can breath through my nose while playing soccer and basketball for a good amount of time then I need short breaths from my mouth now my question stands how do I convince my orthodontist I really really want to have a beautiful child with a beautiful wife so whatever can help hell if I’m too old then I’m fucked for life please be truely honest with me friend I need to know

How do ik ? I can fit both my thumbs and my tongue can swim in my palate but my face looks narrow in photos( not in mirror ) and I have a tall face

Ask your ortho he’ll know for sure , as for the narrow face thing , a palate expander does’t address that really , it’s only gonna expand the palate by like a couple of millimeters and your face is not gonna be affected in any form , if you’re open to surgical routes i think there are solutions for that

Your issue likely isn't your palate... An orthodontist will have no issue giving you MSE devices if you actually need them, but you certainly don't. Expanding your palate beyond a functional level is actually just going to fuck up your appearance for a few reasons.

I'm very sure there are more important issues in your face than the width of your palate.

Your issue likely isn't your palate... An orthodontist will have no issue giving you MSE devices if you actually need them, but you certainly don't. Expanding your palate beyond a functional level is actually just going to fuck up your appearance for a few reasons.

I'm very sure there are more important issues in your face than the width of your palate.

You got me interested now I am 17 too and I have a quad hilex that my orto put and for the past week Ive been thinking why would he do that (ofc I have a narrow upper jaw and I have the 3m in my mouth and it did infact make a change) but I really wanna know I havent asked him about it at all and I have a meeting with him in 3 days there I would like to ask him if my upper jaw fused and if I can change to mse
and I also think that there might not be space for mse
