It’s like 3AM and I decided to make a low IQ/effort post. My truth is that I have pride in being ND, as while it’s been hard, I’ve taken the time over my life to personally learn how to statusmaxx/jestermaxx. But I know that many of you who are also ND struggle with this, and want to learn how. I’ve been doing a slight amount of research behind it and I will give you the simplest science I know for if it’s possible to lower your inhib + what you can do instead.
Let's be completely honest here. The studies on this are much more scarce than you think. Just like how it already was with looksmaxxing, you can’t just look up “how to make more friends,” like you would look up “how do I expand my mandible and jelqmaxx so I can have a bigger penis” and expect immediate results by performance. That is NEVER how it worked. You always gotta dig deep, through NT reddit threads or whatever. Whatever you believe works for you.
Basic Info, Suggestions, NT-Base Knowledge
Nobody will be mirin you purely based off you being a nonchalant weirdo who keeps a musty ass hoodie on (little mini tip: the only fragrance you need for being musty is some stupid ass name-brand JPEG. Don’t buy any other cope because it’s most likely filled with endocrine disruptors and you won’t get compliments nor smell any better. But that’s not the point here). Take that shit off. Maybe dress better. But the key is to make short-worded responses at first. Someone talks to you, or you talk to someone, be as NT as humanly fucking possible. Unlike what you think, most of the people around you actually crave normal human interaction without knowing it. They’re already swamped with friends that know them fully, every single detail, and just dap them up in the hallways and walk the other direction. Be forward and open, but of course this doesn’t work without getting a little bit of research in.
A Little Bit Deeper (Beyond NT, but still hiding semblance to being ND)
If your high school is prominent in sports, for example, create an Instagram account, go to the ASB pages for your year, and football pages, scroll through them and follow people you recognize (from the hallways, from class, or who have “(HS) (Year)’” in their bio). Go through their posts. Look through the comments. See who’s commenting. Look through theirs as well. Find out shit they’ve done.
If you want to get with a girl, for example, ask “how was __?” if they went somewhere. Something that (for some fucking reason) worked to add surprise to the conversation is that I claimed I didn’t have something most people have (like a car or a house). I don’t really know, it can be anything — I’m just not leaking what I said specifically (not because gatekeep, just because I get hyperspecific about that shit idk). This means stalking their highlights for a bit. Find something your ND mind recognizes, and can connect to. If you're a geography nerd, and they have a vacation highlight, don't be too much with it but go easy, make sure you're laying down basic shit to them and not rambling on about how much you know about (insert cunt-try)
Also – Don’t use chemicals to directly “lower your inhib.” That's not possible. It's more indirect. You should work on naturally trying to lower your cortisol levels in social situations. Before school, you can take a peptide like Selank.
But wait? How the fuck would Selank work?
More Into The Science Of It (no you dont make this topic of convo with NT-chads)
Well, let’s think deeper about it. Why is the term “You’re nervous” and “nervous” so common to describe being scared in social situations? Because it’s fucking true. Selank specifically, acting as a nootropic stress reliever, claims its anxiolytic title by inducing modulatory action on the GABAergic system.
To be more accurate: Selank is a synthetic peptide (an analog of tuftsin) that has shown effects in preclinical and limited human studies. It does not directly bind to GABA-A receptors like benzodiazepines, but it increases the expression of GABA-related genes and enhances inhibitory tone. GABA receptors suppress neural firing (via chloride influx into neurons), slowing down overactive circuits, which helps regulate anxiety. Basically, Excessive stress = elevated cortisol = impaired prefrontal cortex function (the part that regulates planning, social inhibition, and working memory). By modulating this system, Selank can normalize stress responses.
The evidence is thin, though. Many trials were small, non–double-blind, or limited to Russian clinical settings. Out of 9 studies, only a minority reported statistical significance (p < 0.05). Others showed borderline results, and at least one trial found null effects (p > 0.05). So: it may help, but if it really gets to this point JFL. In my own opinion, I feel that these results are more speculative and can still have a major impact on MANY people, including those who are ND (as I don't believe the treatments were applied to specifically ND patients)
Incorporating NT knowledge with ND explanation
Then again, it doesn’t just require peptides. It also simply requires a change in mindset. That as an issue is much more multifaceted than changes in mRNA levels.
The only tip I can really give on that is to incorporate one thing into your train of thought when talking or thinking of talking to a person: “Whatever I say, will it impact me long-term? Do I have a conscious reason to stress about what I might say? I know I won’t say anything necessarily hurtful or wrong to them, and if I somehow do, it won’t be the end of the world. Will this be a problem?” This reframing reduces anticipatory anxiety, which is largely driven by an overactive amygdala sending false alarms to your brain.
Another thing I looked into on my journey through bullshit was SSRIs, or most forms of serotonergic treatment.
Simply put: serotonin modulates social behavior by increasing affiliative behavior (NOT extroversion directly, but a foundation for it) and decreasing negative affect. Negative affect isn’t just internalized (“I’m a piece of shit, I have an ugly face”), but externalized too (reflecting that attitude onto others in conversation).
SSRIs increase extracellular serotonin by inhibiting reuptake. Over time (weeks, not days), this desensitizes autoreceptors and enhances serotonin tone across circuits regulating mood, social behavior, and inhibition of overactive fear pathways (especially in the amygdala). However, SSRIs are much less readily available than peptides like Selank or Semax, and they come with side effects and longer timelines for effects to emerge.
This is, of course, my first long essay-type thread, so it’s going to be shitty. I will eventually update it with more concrete research and backing behind my claims. Please don’t be too brutal. Additionally, there are MUCH more research chemicals that either do or don’t have a lot more clinical studies and proof behind them than just Selank, so it’s interesting to research those as well. I'll keep editing so it's better formatted. Please help me format it better below
