I don't know what it is, but no matter my bodyfat, I always look puffy in the face and body and have visible water retention. Except if I literally don't eat or drink anything except alcohol or other diuretics. Am i supposed to always look like shit when bulking or even with maintenance calories, when there are people with 20 or 25% bodyfat who look lean, how is that possible? Here is an example of how I look like right now with only maintenance calories and healthy eating. One bag of rice is enough and I look like shit.

Genetics of fat deposition vary between individuals,so yours might just be mostly facial. Also alcohol is in fact some of the culprits of water retetion. Here's a guide I've stumbled across, scroll way down for actual solutions

I dont think it's fat though. Because I can look very lean in the timespan if only 2 hours with alcohol for example. So the problem is water retention and not fat

I’m the same. Unless I’m eating very very little my face just decides it’s real thirsty for some reason

Yes it’s not fat don’t listen to that guy, alcohol will make you look very lean everywhere including your face the next day but as soon as you eat/drink again you will bloat up harder.

Best ways of avoiding this is to focus on potassium as you most likely are deficient in it, I’m much leaner when eating food and adding LoSalt on it which gives a 1:3 sodium potassium ratio so it helps give pumps in gym whilst keeping bloat low.

Another way but much harder is keto but downside is you will have 0 pumps 0 energy, people on here advocate it but for me it’s way too extreme.

Low fat Greek yoghurt seems to also keep my bloat low for some reason so that could be worth a try.

Give the LoSalt a try it’s very cheap and it will make you look good facially whilst maintaining energy, strength, size.

Ok I will give it a try. Do you supplement potassium or how do you reach a 1:3 ratio?
