Depends on where you meet them. Americans don't seem to travel as much Brits or Aussies. I'm an American myself, and I hate most other Americans, but the ones I've met abroad that do travel seem to me more of the crazy adventurous variety, which I like. I hate most Americans in the US though. And when I say that I'm talking about white people. They're the most generic trend-happy lame f*cking people you'll ever know. Brits are more cucked but they have more character. Same goes for Aussies.

If you want to make friends with Americans talk incessantly about your job. Start with small talk then ask them about their work.

no, americans are not different based on geography, they are pretty much the same anywhere you go, very little variation (mostly applies to americans of the same race)

op the most likely reason you are struggling to make friends is because you give off weird foreigner vibes, every foreigner does this, even europeans, because american culture is different from any other. also, the concept of "friendship" is very different in other countries. you're looking for deep intimate friendships, and you're not gonna find that too much here. relationships are very transient. you're also past the stage where you can make real friends, really
