I came out here just before COVID, n then got a job at an international school due to everyone leaving the country, then current job due to nepotism, n just sign a contract for an international school due to prior exp at an international school

(I actually have a solid CV n took on a managerial role during COVID as a way to heavily boost CV n pay was good + created multiple entire curricula from scratch n achieved solid grades for students in International Baccalaureate/ Cambridge Qualifications/ Chinese Govt exams, amongst other shit)

Sounds like you got hired because you’re a native speaker. There are programs that help with that, but unfortunately, I’m not a native speaker. I intend to work at schools in the country. Maybe you can help @optimisticzoomer, he’s gotten job offers in Thailand and China, he’s looking for a good gig in China. I need to get my bachelor’s in Education before I can become a licensed teacher. I had American students in my university who were surprised by the workload given to us, they said that first year students in the Netherlands are being taught what they are taught in their final years. What grades have you taught so far?

I like my life out here - last 2 years I been work 20hrs a week and had about 3.4K USD disposable income after tax, rent, bills, food etc

They will hire non-native speakers for subject classes (science, maths) etc out here

but yeah being native speaker was a big help + I have an Eng Lit undergrad and an MSc
