• The Outpouring of the Spirit: Zechariah promises that God will "pour out... a spirit of grace and supplication". In Acts 2:17-33, Peter declares that the Holy Spirit has been poured out as promised, leading to a massive spiritual awakening.
• "Cut to the Heart": After hearing Peter’s sermon—where he declares, "this Jesus, whom you crucified" (Acts 2:36)—the crowd was "cut to the heart". This deep conviction and subsequent repentance mirror the "bitter mourning" described in Zechariah for the pierced one.
