It's all horseshit I have never seen anybody treat someone else like garbage and then have other people respect them more afterward. I have seen instances in which somebody who already had decent status was able to treat others poorly without anybody giving a shit but never ever have I seen somebody alpha male their way into status/respect. It's just a bullshit hollywood movie trope. 90% of the time behaving "alpha" in the real world will just make others hate you and nobody will want to be around you.

If you do this you need to make sure that you completely destroy any chance of him getting back at you because he will be in hatred of you behind your back and betray you when the chance arrives. The far better solution is to talk to him and get him to like you (this comes with other benefits too)

Yes, but there seems to be some unspoken respect or code when a guy says “yeah i do MMA/BJJ/Muay Thai.” And usually in fights, the two become friends and respect each other after a fight.

Usually older people tend to speak down to you which is why you should never bow down to them or even apologize.
It's hard to find an example without being too specific but even simple things like not being overly nice to customers or staff when you are the costumer.
