I'm looking to avoid getting any fillers, as the constant touch ups could be financially unsustainable. Would much rather just raise the funds for surgical procedures and be done with it. What's the best surgical procedure for getting rid of or significantly lightening nasolabial folds? Or should I forego surgery and just stick with fillers? Appreciate it boys

Age and pics would help. If you don't have pics, do you have any idea what's actually causing the folds?

botox if they're not too deep

Mid face lift is supposed to be a more permanent solution

18, and I'm not comfortable w sharing pics rn. I'm pretty certain it's just my skin aging as a result of stress. Always been stressed out, as far back as I can remember. I've been able to reverse much of my acne issues with skincare, water, and dermarolling, but my only visible skin lines/wrinkles are my folds. I could go for a mid-facelift, but I feel like it's too early to do so at 18.

Take ashwagandha pills. I’ve taken 3 250mg pills for the last month and I’ve had less stress and worries.

I can't tell without pics

Hard to believe it could be aging at 18, especially without any other signs of aging. Are you lean? Is your maxilla recessed?

Address the stress. Make it your no. 1 priority. This isn't "cope" - it will improve your looks and your life to have less anxiety. Tell yourself you can't get any surgical procedures until you've:

- started exercising regularly
- fixed whatever shit diet you're probably on
- get adequate social interaction
- apply CBT principles on yourself to change negative thought patterns
- explore mental health treatment options

THEN you can consider getting some kind of surgery as a "reward" - if you still need it.

I've already thought of everything you've listed. I'm very lean; I made sure to get down to a low BF before judging my face. No recessed maxilla, either. I already work out, eat a low carb diet high in fruits, lean meats, and vegetables, with as little junk food as possible. I've begun counseling to deal with my plethora of psychological issues, and am giving medication a try (though it hasn't done much for me thus far). The thing is, I've begun making most of these changes within the last 6 months. 18 years before then, I was severely stressed out, stuck in an overthinking loop, and dealing with being bipolar, having insomnia, and anxiety with little to no help. I'm sure none of that did any favours when it comes to my folds. It still surprises me that my folds are the ONLY real signs of ageing on my face, which leads me to believe that it COULD be genetic; my dad has deep folds, as well as my drug use. I smoke weed pretty regularly.

When it comes to surgery, I appreciate the support, but I do have some v apparent flaws that can only be fixed by surgical procedures. At low BF, my jaw is wide, but not chiseled. My chin is recessed. I'm most definitely going to fix those; I've already saved up for my chin implant. The rest of my features are, thankfully, pretty good. Nobody knows about my plan to get these procedures except me. But when it comes to my folds, I plan to collagenmaxx and continue to practice self care and skincare, leading a low stress lifestyle. After I'm done with my other procedures, I'll likely go for some sort of fillers or a subcision to fix my folds.

Sounds like you're doing a lot of great stuff.

My only additional advice as someone who has gone through the mental health care system is to be VERY clear and honest with whoever is prescribing your meds. I had a lot of my side effects downplayed because a lot of the time they only care if they're addressing your anxiety/depression/bipolar symptoms. If you're getting a side effect you don't like (libido issues, energy levels, etc.) and your provider isn't on board with doing everything they can to minimize it, you might need to go to someone else.

Bet, appreciate the support bb. I'm definitely determined to do something about my issues instead of just wallowing in my own misery while my life passes me by. Good luck in your journey as well.
