I don't know if mimicing normies will really alter your fundamental interests and tastes. I suppose it will help with interacting with them so you can talk about something that normies can understand. Maybe if you hang out with normies in person enough you may subconsciously begin to assimilate to their culture and interests.

This. A big reason why I struggle with being NT, other than aspergers, is never having knowledge about what they are talking about. Like they are talking about the football game and I have never even watched football or they are talking about rapper I have never even heard of. How the fuck am I supposed to talk with them??

Normiemaxxing (to me)would just be a part of socialmaxxing. To even begin to have charisma to dominate a conversation or own a room you have to devlop basic ability and the logic used to conversate with people. I worked with wrestlers, so I watched 10 minute breakdowns and was able to have in depth conversations based on just pure assumption. I would simply just state what I knew to be a fact and never go over.

Watch quick breakdowns on popular shows. Same with sports (Just read headlines for five minutes).

Read surface level political views and happenings. Mainly liberal if you're in a western country (Especially the U.S.A. or U.K., Possibly Canada). Also some conservative. Read whatever is popular locally though and form a general knowledge around what the 22 year old girl at college who spends a lot of her time at starbucks and hanging out with friends thinks. It should be easy enough to asses.

Stay neutral, but don't dodge. Just use basic double standards and moral inconsistency.

Example: Loving meat products that are created through ridiculous levels of torture of sentient beings, but saying you'll murder someone for hurting a dog or cat.
Example: Death penalty for lets say a pedophile or a racial shooter, but thinking murder in general is bad or excusing crime for someone you may support the actions of.

Try to not make anyone feel stupid. Only joke about stuff that they aren't insecure about. Don't try to correct them, because intellectual superiorty feels like you're questioning someone and most people aren't emtoionally mature enough to not get upset over it. This is something I see a lot of people do and I don't even think they realize it.

Go on both Twitter & Instagram and look up what is trending. Takes 2 minutes a day.

Learn to small talk and learn to make a few funny jokes and you'll go far honestly.

Have great posture and have a smile.

Admit when you're wrong and say you don't know something. Asking about a topic you saw, but not knowing about the silly instagram challenge you don't really care about can make someones day. I love to talk to people who just get into punk music even if they snobbily tell me to check out something I heard a literal decade ago. If I was mean to them, it'd deter them away from what I love and I know how excited it felt to get into it. I try to have this mentality with anything that isn't ridiculous. Ask them about a meme. A Cardi B song. A TV show. What kind of muic they like. People love humble people.

I emphasize a lot on actual communication and navigating social media, because knowing how to socialize is much more important than what is going on. I have in depth conversations with strangers and make a majority of them smile even if they looked like they absolutely wanted me to die at first. I reuse a few of the same jokes, exude positivity, and sometimes force a smile of my own. I might annoy the pessimist, etc. Do I really care about them though? Not really. I rather be hated for being annoyingly positive, happy, and open minded than being a quiet ugly loser who happens to like 21 Savage. That's how you maintain longlasting relationships, which actually matter and lead you to better oppurtunity in everything from one offs to long term rather than just specializing in short term.

In my own experience, you, as a person with presumably niche interests, will be navigating a lot of cultural chasms with your interlocutor. You can expect most foids to like Pop, Netflix, food, and dogs. Always found myself saying most often "no I haven't really heard of that but I'll have to check it out" and "huh interesting." If you can't stand to immersively normiemax, you should be prepared to whitewash your interests and focus on the less jarring ones. Think: "Yeah I like this band Unsane. They're sort of a rock thing, on the heavier side" not "Yeah, Today Is the Day is probably my favorite and they have this song that's deeply expressive of the profound torment of having physical fulfillment withheld from you, wherein the instruments drop out and the vocalist shrieks 'I smell sex.'" That's obviously an exaggeration, but learn how to present your interests and focus on the ones that might not be as hard to explain, whatever these are in your case.

I think this is a decent criticism and brings up an even more important point.

My advice have worked for a majority of people I've told them to, but there is the reality that you have to take this advice and apply it to your own life. There are too many factors for me to take into account and if I'm not personally helping someone I basically have to hope they know to apply it to their own life and situation / available oppurtunities.

With that being said.. The execution of these is often more practical than robotic and methodical, BUT as for someone who felt the way you assumingly did at a point I went on the path of breaking down some of my interests to near bare bones for some in order to both share them more effectively and maybe get someone into them.

Especially for someone who likes obscure stuff. Individuality and personality do matter, but if you can't communicate it no one really cares.
