What are valid reasons for getting a referral? Could facial recessions be a valid reason (if you need photos, I can provide), especially if it's due to mouth breathing? How does asking for trimax surgery differ from asking for double jaw surgery, and how do you ask for counterclockwise rotation, or is it just recommended? You first need to get a referral from your ortho to a jaw surgeon, jaw surgeon sends case to insurance (If he deems djs necessary), then decomp (6-24 months), finalise surgery plan (usually a month before surgery), then surgery.
You won't get insurance bimax anytime soon if at all.
You need to have a small airway, malloclusions etc.
They will look at your cbct, your intra oral scan etc. You probably already have intra-oral scans if you ever had braces. Its not really up to you what they do with your jaw with an insured bimax, they might show you a few variations with different outcomes. What are valid reasons for getting a referral? I haven't gotten braces before, nor did I get intra-oral scans. I'm not sure if I have any malocclusion issues, but I do suffer from severe mouth breathing recessions (from childhood), which I heard orthodontics could fix, but not sure if it's a validThey will look at your cbct, your intra oral scan etc. You probably already have intra-oral scans if you ever had braces. You need to have a serious enough malocclusion, aesthetic reasons will be rejected immediately.
Orthodontics only camouflage the teeth, do your lips touch? You need to get a cbct first. You aren't gonna get a trimax insured just because some kid in the tiktok comments recommended it.I haven't gotten braces before, nor did I get intra-oral scans. Lips touching? Sorry, but could you expand on that?Orthodontics only camouflage the teeth, do your lips touch? You need to get a cbct first. You aren't gonna get a trimax insured just because some kid in the tiktok comments recommended it.
if your mandible is severely recessed (like you said) and you havent had camouflage braces yet, your lips arent touching. Or at least look weird.Lips touching? Sorry, but could you expand on that?
I feel like I can’t really trust my own judgment but this is what it looks likeif your mandible is severely recessed (like you said) and you havent had camouflage braces yet, your lips arent touching. Or at least look weird.
I'd say just make an appointment with an ortho. Don't get your hopes up too much tho.I feel like I can’t really trust my own judgment but this is what it looks like View attachment 5542312
ok but does my age matter? I'm 19 as of right nowI'd say just make an appointment with an ortho. Don't get your hopes up too much tho.
That is old enough.ok but does my age matter? I'm 19 as of right now
Is it better to wait until 21 to get surgery, or at least until that's when the bones fully develop? That is old enough.
Bro, you won't be getting surgery in a month, it will probably take at least a year from now, best case scenario. You havent even seen an ortho yet. Expect it to take at least 2 years from now till surgery. Is it better to wait until 21 to get surgery, or at least until that's when the bones fully develop?
Ok but if I’m not eligible for ortho what else could I do? As my side profile is still badBro, you won't be getting surgery in a month, it will probably take at least a year from now, best case scenario. You havent even seen an ortho yet. Expect it to take at least 2 years from now till surgery.
Private bimax, make sure to save at least 40-50kOk but if I’m not eligible for ortho what else could I do? As my side profile is still bad
Oh so even if not eligible I can still get bimax ? If so could I add CCW rotation or no ? Also what country would you recommend ?Private bimax, make sure to save at least 40-50k
First save money and do extensive research, I am not the best person to ask about surgeons or countries. I will do all of my surgeries in Western Europe. Alright money first but what should I do for my recessed infras and mid face ? Seen in the photo ?First save money and do extensive research, I am not the best person to ask about surgeons or countries. I will do all of my surgeries in Western Europe. You are getting way ahead of yourself.
Again, getting way ahead of yourself. I am in the process of infra-malars right now and first appointment till surgery probably takes a year (took 4 months from contact till first appointment)Alright money first but what should I do for my recessed infras and mid face ? Seen in the photo ?

What makes someone a bimax candidate ? Examples ?Process takes 2-3 years + to get jaw surgery
Don’t even look like bimax candidate to me
If u don’t have any functional issues jus get genio bimax won’t improve ur front at all n will barely help ur side not worth for aesthetics
dudes mandible is like 2" long. whole face needs to be pulled a good bit forward imoProcess takes 2-3 years + to get jaw surgery

Skeletal deformity/discrepancy like extreme malocclusion retrognathic n sometimes prognathic but no that as much soWhat makes someone a bimax candidate ? Examples ?
So am I a candidate or no ?dudes mandible is like 2" long. whole face needs to be pulled a good bit forward imo
If you need any info I have unfortunately been chronic mouth breathing as child so I thought it would help ?Skeletal deformity/discrepancy like extreme malocclusion retrognathic n sometimes prognathic but no that as much so

maybe if u have overbite can get bsso n genio but ur maxilla looks good ur Philtrum curve isnt smt would even consider touchingSo am I a candidate or no ?
Why does my face looks so sunken in then ?maybe if u have overbite can get bsso n genio but ur maxilla looks good ur Philtrum curve isnt smt would even consider touching
Malocclusions, TMJ, sleep apnea, small airwayWhat makes someone a bimax candidate ? Examples ?
Mainly ur under eyes I don’t think ur orbital vector is negative but the discoloration and lack of fat distributed in that area in combination w possible lack of bone projection is what I would sayWhy does my face looks so sunken in then ?
Can you atleast elaborate on wether or not you suffer from functional issues? We can’t tell ur eligibility based off of just looks alone. But it does look like your chin is severly recessed, and your top lip protrudes way beyond where it should be at, which may indicate general recession. So am I a candidate or no ?
what are some symptoms like I have a hard time breathing from my noseCan you atleast elaborate on wether or not you suffer from functional issues? How would I go about fixing that ? If I couldn’t get bimax ?Mainly ur under eyes I don’t think ur orbital vector is negative but the discoloration and lack of fat distributed in that area in combination w possible lack of bone projection is what I would say
But for ur lower third I think submental plane lift could also really help
I just told you in a previous reply, find out yourselfwhat are some symptoms like I have a hard time breathing from my nose
I think I may have a small nasal airway (Which prob lead to me mouth breathingI just told you in a previous reply, find out yourself
Download a snore app to see if you snore alot and have frequent pauses in breathing cus at first i also didn’t think i had sleep apnea until i did that.I think I may have a small nasal airway (Which prob lead to me mouth breathing), and I may have an overjet or overbite. I don't have TMJ or sleep apnea tho
Which app would you recommend or download ?Download a snore app to see if you snore alot and have frequent pauses in breathing cus at first i also didn’t think i had sleep apnea until i did that.
Could I pay out of pocket or no ?ur upper jaw is slightly below average, lower jaw is hella recessed. i personally would be looking in to some way to fix at least the lower jaw. what you think you "need" and what insurance thinks u "need" are rarely gunna line up
im unfamiliar with your financial situation, but in turkey u could find djs surgeons for under 15k.Could I pay out of pocket or no ?
