You're not terribly finished. It will recess you slightly but nowhere near to the level if you had premolar extractions

Just don't wear the elastics. They don't glue the elastics onto the braces, since you have to remove them when you eat.

it's just my bite block fillings that are creating the illusion of a recessed jaw
will try to avoid the elastics but I fear that my teeth will resorp too much if I keep having to spend 2 more months to wear the elastics over again
