If I want to see the most improvements in getting stronger and aesthetic physique, should I be doing 2 or 3 sets on exercise?

1 warm up if needed and 2 heavy sets

if you are training a muscle only one time a week 3 sets is probraly better. but if its anything else 2 sets is also good.
