So I chewed starting last spring and by June I had a total chad jaw. My whole facial harmony changed from the chewing and I looked like a different person. I chewed a bit too much and woke up one morning mid September with TMJ which I've had ever since. I had to go to a chiropractor and she manually relaxed my muscles and I lost all of my gains and I'm bak to subhuman

I want these gains back but obviously can't chew because I'll keep perpetuating my TMJ. Would fillers be a reasonable option for me? Would this help get those gains back?

This i dont know the answer to but what you mentioned about facial harmony is intressting. Would you be able to provide pictures?

Yes it is. Get that consulted with a cosmetic dentist or a sleep apnea therapist because I had a similar thing in my right jaw near the gonial angle.

Were you chewing until your masseter was insanely sore to the point were it could be described as painful?

I have an orthodontist at the moment ive asked him about it and he told me to not worry about it my braces will fix it

So did my dentist when I had braces, it went away for 6 months but after taking the braces off it got worse and sometimes even the jaw would get stuck in place. Trust me dentists are the dumbest breed of doctors. Go
To a actual specialist for this cuz long term side effects will affect your quality of life

Ive heard that people with tmj get surgery to fix it. Is this true?

You can get surgery but there are non surgical methods which also bring ur mandible forward and cause a upswing. Look up things like “mandibualar advancement, mandibular splint, mandible forward surgery”. all those things help relieve tmj pain while making your face look better

Surgery is more readily available but it does mean that after the surgery you will have to be living differently for a while because of pain from the surgery (eating liquid, pain similar to wearing tight braces).

If however you can get non surgical that’s good too non surgical will treat your tmj but it won’t give u the same cosmetic results as the surgery. The pictures provided below are after about 1 month of using a mandibualr advance device to help with my tmj

I have had clicking jaw since I was 16.
it's not a real problem but you may try to fix it by symmetrical chewing: while you are chewing gum or food you should have food on both left and right part of your mouth.
use 2 gums at the same time for symmetrical-chewing.

Did your mandible retrude from the TMJ? Did the TMJ change your facial structure at all? I got a sliding mouth appliance and am seeing a chiropractor who keeps manually pushing my
Mandible forward but it keeps slipping back. Hopefully it will stay forward
