sleeping with eye mask or without ?

I had been having problems with my room being too hot at night so I had to open the window to let the air come in but there's also light coming from there.
So , to fix this Had to get a silk eye mask but I'm not sure if its better to sleep with it or without so I could do something about the temperature if it's not good.
