Driven forward by military escorts, the deportees were deprived of food and water and subjected to periodic robbery, rape, and massacre.[12] Other ethnic groups were similarly targeted for extermination in the Assyrian genocide and the Greek genocide, and their treatment is considered by some historians to be part of the same genocidal policy.[1][2] Most Armenian diaspora communities around the world came into being as a direct result of the genocide.[13]

Nobody says that Armenians didn’t die. Both parties killed eachother, however to say something is a genocide there must be evidence that the state systematically killed them. The Ottoman government literally hanged it’s OWN civil servants because they couldn’t protect Armenians against vengeance raids. Need to add to this that during the Russian occupation of Anatolia Armenians would form terror organisations and killed of many Muslim Kurds. The family and tribe members where also the ones who did those raids against Armenians as a vengeance.
