What are your thoughts on Ray Peat's diet advice? It sounds very contradictory to the common advice given on .me as he has the following opinions:

+ sugar
+ dairy
+ salt
+ calcium

- unsaturated fats
- EPA/DHA
- keto/carnivore
- fasting

Has anyone of you ever tried his diet or has further insight in his beliefs?

fast three days
eat 1 day (low sugar)
-Repeat

Do this for 2 weeks. Your body should become 'fat-adopted' whereby it utilizes fat in the body for energy rather than glucose.

I've done this, albeit by mostly accident, and it works out great, dropped 20 pounds in less than a month.

Peat is a genius, most of his followers are retards who misunderstand half of what he says. The main takeaway from Peat is to minimize PUFA, maximize CO2 production/retention (same goal as with the Buteyko method which is another genius framework) and minimize stress hormones, the combination of which will lead to high vitality. The rest is mostly pointless finetuning.

So omega-3 fatty acids are not recommended right?

You need some EFA, but there shouldn't be any need to directly supplement them if you are consuming saturated fat from high quality sources, as these would contain enough of them to take care of your needs. High quality sources would be organic grass-fed meat/eggs/dairy.

Alright, thank you. I have been supplementing around 1g of EPA/DHA daily for a long time. What are the adverse effects that would happen in theory?

Fasting is not that great thing.

Your metabolism slows and as soon you eat, your body keeps fat to prevent the next fasting

Probably not much. Consider that Peat thinks 5g of PUFA a day is a reasonable amount.

Any tips? Any foods that you recommend that can achieve this? How can I maximize CO2 production/retention and why is that beneficial?

Eat real foods which you you enjoy eating and which leave you energized. Your body knows what it wants, listen to your cravings.

How can I maximize CO2 production/retention and why is that beneficial?
Diaphragmic breathing and the Buteyko method (see normalbreathing.com for more). Co2 enables circulating oxygen to enter the cell. Without sufficient co2 you could have 100% oxygen saturation in your blood and still be hypoxic on cellular level. Insufficient oxygenation causes nearly all diseases that exist from cancer to diabetes to heart disease.

Not interested in going into another rabbit hole of endless questions with you, sorry. I trust you'll be able to figure these out for yourself.
