What are the factors in pre-DJS braces duration?

Is it a set amount of time that they are required for regardless of movement? Or do you need to wear them for less time for conservative bimax movements or if you aren't getting CCW?

Most people need to remove wisdom teeth and then according to class other teeth for movements, this is why braces can sometimes take a year and half because they only can move your bite like 0.2 mm per month.
