why do most people like disgusting things on their burgers?

every time I order a cheeseburger from somewhere I always have to explicitly ask for JUST cheese and meat, otherswise they automatically assume that I want pickles, lettuce, cucumber and tomato on it. I don't want that nasty shit on my cheeseburger. they might as well just take a dump and smear it into my burger. I just want cheese, meat ketchup and maybe mustard. how hard is that to understand? how can most people LIKE this gross stuff on
their burgers? I can;t wrap my head around it.

a beef patty by itself has very little flavor. This is why its put on a bun and drenched in sugary condiments and conflicting flavors.
