The reason is that they don't follow sunnah (teachings of Mohammed) , and they don't follow their prophet as much as Ali and other Imams.
that allows them to be Muslims but be modern muslims at the same time that's why you see A lot of Iraqis and Iranis with shaven beards, drinking, and some even say "Ali save us" instead of "Allah save us"
Mohammed is the tyrant head of Islam and he allowed Muslims to do crazy things and many Shias don't accept Mohammeds shitty teachings (Check out my thread on Islam if you want to learn more) that's why you mostly see sunnis being terrorists an almost never see Shias being violent.
