Average IMW of modern humans

Not sure what the forum thinks of Mike Mew but he said the average UK adult in this day and age has an intermolar width ranging from 29-34mm which to me sounds too low? I had extractions to an already narrow palate which would have narrowed my jaw even further yet I still fall into the upper range of his estimation.

I assume I am way narrower than others and it's quite rare for me to notice narrower jaws in public compared to me so if I go ahead with Mew's estimation I'd be average in the UK but I'm struggling to believe that considering I was narrow and then had extractions too. I think most people are actually closer to the 40s instead. What are your guys' IMW?

Do not cite me on this but I recall reading the average IMW was around 37 mm, so your guess is probably right. Of course it greatly depends on the population under analysis. People in the UK have the narrowest palates I have seen in real life; something around 30 mm seems plausible there.

I did have a very narrow palate, very vaulted as well, with an IMW of around 30 mm. Some weeks ago I finished expanding my MSE and things definitely look better. My palatal width now falls into the modern average range.

This is hard to tell with full exactness. Not even scans can tell you the number because as you expand new bone is slowly forming around the suture. What I know is that I expanded the device about 8.5 mm, and that I gained more anterior expansion, which is primarly what I needed.
