Being a gray in the gym

Im almost 16 and run track + im a winger in soccer so im not fat but not lean either, I want to start going to the gym but don't know where to start. I'm also wondering what's most important in terms of aesthetics. My frame honestly is not horrible, but I lack definition in my core and wanted to know how I could train abs to achieve something more pleasing in 4 months time.

Yeah something i struggled with, right now is our off season though and like I said I have about 4 months until we start up. But probably like 4-5 times a week
do upper lower / anterior posterior split. i would tell you to do 2x failure in the 5-8 rep range but as a beginner you should do more volume. i would do 3 sets in the 5-8 rep range (0-2 RIR). this is the most optimal shit you can do.

if u are back in season and can only hit the gym twice a week or something just do full body splits.

Go to the gym and hit whatever you want to acheive lol
 
hard to hit the gym wwhile doing sports. how many days a week can you hit the gym consistently?

Slight calorie deficit, cardio, smart dieting, and exercise 4-6 days a week

start going consistently first and watch YT vids on splits and what machines to use

If you're doing this much cardio weekly, you might have dietary issues or are eating way over maintenance/unhealthily
Building muscle while cutting fat is easy enough if you simply lift weights, but doing this while having 4-5 practices weekly means u might have to cut down your volume or do little-no leg days

Yeah idk I feel im not getting any bigger or smaller and have kind of just been maintaining my body which is why I want to lift to see if that can help. Also like I said my main focus really is building abs/stronger core since its a fundamental of running that I lack.
