i also had very bad flared ribs. you cant really get rid of them, but you can kind of hide them by being aware of your breathing.
kind of think that getting bigger abs helped me to make them look better, but that might just be cope.

but honestly, flared ribs can be quite asthetic, look at wesley vissers, he also has flared ribs.

i wouldnt say that they are very good, but they have improved a lot over the last couple of months.

when it comes to training them, you just have to go about it like any other muscle, because at the end of the day they are just another muscle.
train them hard, go to failure or very close to failure on 1-2 working sets, and ensure progressive overload.
dont try to keep your abs shredded throughout the year - you have to be in a caloric surplus to make muscle grow - also goes for your abs.

u get your knowledge from tiktok nigga read the room
i do not get my knowledge from tiktok, i get my knowledge from years of bodybuilding experience :) training obliques increases overall width of the waist, which will make his flared ribs look even worse. the only way to deal with flared ribs is proper breathing or surgery.

its extremely simple, main thing is to follow your your abs function which is spinal flexion. from here on, pick an exercise that follows this principle, which is basically most of the ab exercises out here
my personal favourite is weighted cable crunches but you gotta pick what works the best for you. do your own research on this.

abs are just like any other muscle btw, which means its completely unnecesarry to do like 50+ reps - 6-12 rep range till failure is the most optimal.

the biggest issue could simply be his posture, which is most likely correlated to his lower back. in any case, before getting a surgery - trying out some exercises may help

some solid video i found just now, hope it helps

yeah i mean proper breathing and correct posture go together pretty much but yes, trying out some of these posture exercises will also be very helpful.

flared ribs are pretty much always a genetic failo, imo. obliques won't fix the underlying structure there, they'll just emphasize the width. you're right, training them is usually ropefuel.
