Method: stretch the galea for a few minutes after waking and before bed. This was done for a couple months before seeing results (remember that even minoxidil takes 6 months to see results so this is not some miracle method that will restore ur hair in a week)

To start u want to pinch areas of the galea to remove the fibrosis build up particularly along the hair line, it will feel stiff and like u are breaking some build up. Next you want to stretch the entire galea by placing your palms over the temples and pull towards the bridge of the nose to apply a diagonal force vector. U also want to apply a vector going from the temple to the widows peaks. Just hold each for about a minute or two.

I now notice some hairline regrowth in the corner of my temple that cannot be attributed to anything else. Pics wont prove anything so i wont post.

Anyway it’s a simple routine that doesnt cost much you can add it to your night routine. As you do it you should feel blood filling the temples and vertex. Although i dont have vertex thinning at this point this does match up with the mpb pattern so could mean that vertex thinning is in my near future.

This is stretching in the opposite direction of the growband product. I used to stretch towards the crown for years before switching to my current method and only now i am seeing some results. I still occasionally stretch towards the crown just for good measure.

Ideally i would like to fashion a device that can keep my galea stretched while i sleep. Any ideas? I assume some kind of chin strap could do the job but i need a method to anchor it to the temples. Bonus points if it can keep the mouth closed overnight.

Makes me think back to this video where at 9 mins in the surgeon says hair loss used to be treated by placing a breast implant under the scalp. Presumably to keep the galea stretched. It sounds like they might have been on to something back then. Although i cant find any more info on that.

Galea tension theory has been debunked more than flat earth theory at this point :feelskek:

Galia isn’t a factor in androgenic alopecia. It’s been proven before. Surely you would just get Botox in the scalp if it were true to stop hair loss but no.

Breast implant method had nothing to do with galia stretching, it was used to permanently stretch out the skin that had hair still so the balding areas could be surgically removed and the hairline sewed together. Michael Jackson had this done after his hair caught fire that one time and he had burns on his scalp.

Am 100% certain scalp tension is a huge factor in mpb
When my scalp is loose i have 100% scalp itch or inflammation.
The more i balded trough the years the tighter and harder my scalp has become

many people get botox injected in the scalp to treat balding

How does any of that disprove galea theory? Obviously a model is not going to be 100% accurate and not everyone is going to have the same skull shape. There are way more holes in dht theory and using the same lens to criticise it raises way more questions:
- dht is supposed to stimulate hair growth so why is it detrimental here
- why is side hair immune to dht
- why does dht affect the hair in a pattern
- why are men balding earlier than ever despite testosterone levels being lower than ever
- diffuse thinners dont tend to respond to finasteride as much as patterned ones do
