Mr Review on Dr Defrancq / Defranqc

I am creating this thread to protect anyone who finds it either searching here or via a search engine like google, as I get a lot of messages asking for my experience

In short Dr Defrancq tried to scam me with implants and lied continuously about the medical indications . Had i not been clued up to Orthognathic surgery and implants he could of easily of destroyed my face and left me in financial ruin.

During our Online consultation I first noticed he was extremely talkative and cheerful, which was a stark difference to our first in person consultation where he was your typical grouchy old man. This stark differece made me uncomfortable as it felt as though it was the act of a used car salesman about to swindle me over something.

It was exactly that. He began saying I did not need a genioplasty it would be impossible to do as my chin was too small so he pushed that i needed his custom PEEK chin implant. Other surgeons have said my chin is perfectly fine for a genioplasty

He stated I did not need a BSSO as it would take too long in terms of orthondontics and life is for living. When other surgeons want to do the BSSO as part of the bimax. A clear attempt to do a quick cash grab and not wait for the orthodontics to prepare the lower jaw.

He did agree to the lefort 1 and his movements were acceptable.

He also wanted to add high cheekbones (cheek implants ) which were not necessary.

He also offered me a discount but pushed up the price of the hospital fees to make up for it (another low cunning move)

Overall what annoyed me was the blatant misinformation he gave me to push his chin implant and refusing to do a BSSO due to the time. It was clear he wanted an easy cash grab rather than put time in for results.

I still cringe when he says "you just have to trust me", I am sure many people have fallen for this who are not knowledgable in maxillofacial surgery and am extremely grateful to this site and people like @Sergio-OMS who has advised me and kept me out of harms way.

In my opinion he will not give you an "accension" or model looks, he seems to of specialised in functional orthognathic surgery and has made a recent leap into the cosmetic side and implants, either tapping into a lucrative market or a new passion. However, I urge you to do your research and consult with multiple maxillofacial surgeons before committing.

Total price requested from me was Euros 21,500

I am currently with another Surgeon who is happy to do a Bimax + semi chin wing.

Italian surgeons are probably the best ones when it comes to an eye for aesthetics. Also the fact that Sergio-OMS is on here means he obviously realizes the importance of male aesthetics.

I’m pretty sure dr defranc is a great surgeon.

All depends on the point of view. Every surgeon has patients that aren’t happy.

Facial implants are great way to correct small issues at a lower cost (both economical and biological costs) but do not treat the root causes (or, more precisely speaking, the consequences of having small lower third). I think that it must be explained thoroughly before doing implants in the chin / mandible.

No it looks like trash like 90% of his work.

He is clearly a shit person that would have screwed me over. I really owe this forum for educating me and disecting his prognosis, its why i made this to return the favour.

Here is a review from someone else on here who had implant surgery with him and got screwed over and basically confirms my points.

It seems you have some sort of purchasing disonance where you want him to be good regardless of anecdotal evidence presented.

Most of his patients have real deformities and are receiving only a nescessary correction apparently. It's true that he does not turn average peopple into supermodels. But he does not seem to get any average people hardly. Some guys he showed me on his computer who looked good already were gong to have jaw augmentation. I'd be curious how the results would be. But he seems to be a little conservative regardig to the size of the implants that he prefers. Of the guy he showed me who wanted a big implant for the jaw he said that he hoped the guy would reconsider because he thoought the implant was too big for him. I thougt it looked good. So maybe that is partly why. He prefers smaller implants. Maybe he is afraid to make mistakes. If you know of any more peoplw who had implants form him please let me know. How are your results with the surgeon you chose?

Ahh that thread is in the best of the best section, you need to have 100 reputation to see it. Worth it to see its extremely in depth.

There is another member on here who had implants by him that looked bad @Sal123 search the archives for his results they don't look good.

I am going with Dr Ramieri who is an excellent surgeon for orthognathic surgery.

If your gut is giving you that "used car salesmen" feeling its almost always right. Reminds me of when I went for a consultation for the DNA appliance (ultimate meme) and the ortho tried to keep me in the dentist chair after telling me it'd cost $12K and I had the " I gotta gtfo outta here" feeling. Even after suggesting ALF for $18K and telling me to get a better job to afford it!

That ortho was too obvious and desperate but always trust your gut to the sneaky ones.

correct. I only see infraorbital rim, browridge and jaw angle implants as legit.

No, he didn't want me sussing his scam plan. He would of had to wait for a whole year for braces to complete when he could just slap a chin implant for the same money.

He said my chin was too small for genio then I got a genio with Dr Ramieri with no issues.

He said I didn't need a bsso as life is for living. I got a bsso with Dr Ramieri.

He wanted to do a hip bone graft and added that to the plan, Dr Ramieri didn't need one.

Basically this is what racist surgeons do they take you on and give you crap surgeries that won't ascend you but you paid a heavy price for it.

Or they give you part of what you need so you have to come back for more so they earn double.

Also they may even botch you so you keep coming for revisions so you become a cash cow.

This could of ended really badly hence why I made this post.
