My journey for bimax and rhino with Alfaro

5 mm is the minimum to see soft tissue improvement. Alfaro usually performs big advancement trying to put you as close as possible to the Barcelona line. 23k for bimax with him is a good price, are you Spanish?
wtf is the "Barcelona line"?

Pain keeps being annoying, i finished this painkiller they prescribed me and i use one that i have at home, but takes some time to work and effect is short

I went to dentist today, she said that for being less than 2 weeks post-op i look very good in terms of inflammation

Nothing else to report (y)

What kind of painkillers did they give you ?

Fuck, the splint is every day more annoying and still need to have it one week. Its like i feel pressure on the teeth and gums, i cant wait to have it removed.

Also as i bite the inner edge on one side is getting sharper and my tongue starts to get hurt

I also had some random stomach virus i think, because i had dhiarrea a few days and still have night sweats.

What kind of painkillers did they give you ?

List of all i was given:

Antibiotics (amoxicillin) should take 3x per day
Probiotic once per day
Stomach protector once per day
Anti inflammatory 3x per day
Paracetamol if pain is not severe 3x per day
Metamizole (dipyrone) instead of paracetamol if pain is strong
Chlorhexidine mouthwash
Waterpik
Vaseline for dry lips, honestly barely needed
Some gel with hyaluronic acid and antiseptic components that i used the first days on the inside of lips because the elastic rubbers were destroying the skin, it worked wonders

You don’t have stronger pain killer omg ? That’s why you are in pain..

Just got a prescription for tramadol, this finally helps

By the way i have 0 jaw pain :feelsautistic: its just the teeth in upper maxilla and i would say the splint is the reason. I got confirmation that i have it removed next week. Looking forward to eat better and depending how i feel ill start to think about returning to work.

What about numbness ?

And can you already make some judgements about the aesthetic outcome ?

Has your voice changed ?

Almost 0 numbness. Chin area nerves working at 95% i would say... It was way worse when i got my wisdom teeth removed.

Early to say if its a dramatic ASCENSION like you call it here, but definitely i can tell i improved. My nose tip is still like a balloon and ruins my profile right now. Also with the splint i cannot close the jaws completely, so the soft tissues arent 100% stretched in neck and jaw. But yeah i can tell i will look pretty decent. Im still with swelling but im happy, its like i can already know it was a good move to have surgery with alfaro.

My miss didnt say anything about voice but i speak like a retard with the splint so... cant tell.

Still cant breath through nose because of the rhino swelling.

I feel more space for my tongue in mouth.

I guess i will need a couple of months to fully get the quality of life improvements, and 6 to 12 months to see the final aesthetic result. Im curious to see if i will get rid a bit of the ugly nasolabial folds i had

You mean permanent? Damn, im sorry.

You mean permanent? Damn, im sorry.
Yes it's permanent, like forever. I could rope on the spot now.
And I still need a bimax. But I will probably get a Lefort 1 combined with distraction osteogenesis on the lower jaw so that the risk for additional nerve damage is almost zero

I will have a 5 - 6mm lefort 1 and 10mm mandibular advancement.

Together with the chin wing my mandible will be advanced by 23mm then. It's crazy. I'll also get massive jaw angle implants

How did this retard even fck up a chin wing ??? It’s supposed to be cut below the main nerve to avoid that shit wtf.

Apparently he cut into my nerve. He ENTIRELY cut it. I can consider myself extremely lucky that I at least regained SOME sensation...

I'll talk to him about the issue very soon, he shall pay me my money back. I wen to Dr Triaca for a second opinion and he has confirmed what happened and he said it's an unacceptable mistake that has happened to him only in 10 out of more than 1000 cases and when it happened he was transparent about it unlike my chin wing doc who lied about it

I even need reduction genio now because that retard advanced it too much, my jaw angles are totally asymmetric now, my right masseter muscle is split in half, I can't believe what he did to me :feelsrope::cry:

Can't say it because we might end up going to court but it wasn't Zarrinbal or Triaca
Can you really get your money back for that? I had my rhino botched (went from straight septum to completely deviated and can't breathe out of 1 nostril). Think I could get my money back?

I have compensation orthodontics though so no underbite until I get decompensation.
Damn I'm in the same position as you.
Will have to go through months of orthodontics to get decompensated before getting a lefort

It depends on the country and how good your knowledge in lawsuits is. As a law student it's obviously not that big of a deal for me also I have unlimited advice from professionals who I know but if you don't know shit about lawsuits its gonna be really hard

Any news about this surgery ? @spain

Any news about this surgery ? @spain

Most of the swelling is gone, i go out on the street and look normal.

If it wasnt for the teeth pain and that i cannot speak well, i would feel 9/10

Having the splint removed next week and thinking about returning to work after removal. I have this wound on nose that heals very slowly and has to be constantly on iodine gel, its no pain but aesthetic issue since i have this stain in my face all day.

So yeah, pretty good overall, im in good mood.

Correction of this:
I've seen several specialists since then and they said TRIACA GOT IT WRONG.
No nerve was cut.

any pictures yet?

Had the splint removed and also got some treat for free that prefer to not disclosure, but i can tell you if you have any issues post-op Alfaro WONT LET YOU DOWN.

I thought the splint away would be a happy day but not so much, i have some weird pain/annoyance when fully closing my mouth and eating is very awkward, its like learning to eat again, i dont know how to explain it. Just as i arrived home i cooked some fried eggs and eating them was very weird. I felt depressed.

Im a bit sleepy all day, yesterday because of traveling couldnt have naps, but at night i slept like 12 hours.

Anyways tomorrow im back to work, lets see how it goes.
