I feel like Arabs or Middle Easterners often view Europeans as an improved version of themselves, that is, fellow Caucasoids, but with lighter and often more attractive features. They will often also envy the material prosperity of European nations, and their "freedoms" too, although this more secretly. But as OP said, they simultaneously view Europeans as degenerate sinners, which they indeed tend to be today. Things were of course different a century or two ago when Europe was still a Christian realm.

So it's a weird relationship of being attracted to something yet hating yourself for feeling that pull, which I guess most people feel when in the presence of something sinful.
