As per my earlier post:
The vertical length of the chin is often measured with reference to the philtrum, but I don't think that this is the best way to do it, considering that the chin is a part of the whole face and harmonises with not just one part, put the entirety of the face itself. So I thought it would be more appropriate to measure the chin with respect to the midface, since there it is a much larger overall part of the face than the philtrum.
So I measured the midface-to-chin ratios of 21 guys that are generally considered to be good looking.
The results:
Miroslav Cech - 2.05
Simonas Pham - 2.37
Bale - 1.78
James Kakonge - 2.47
Serrano - 1.71
Meeks - 2.15
Gandy - 1.91
Cavill - 1.46
Eriksen - 1.90
Sendhil - 1.82
Sean O'Pry - 1.62
Chico - 1.81
Yerger - 1.80
Tyler maher - 1.70
Zach Cox - 1.44 (couldnt get a good photo of him w a neutral facial expression so not perfectly accurate)
Hexum - 1.64
Broderick Hunter - 2.08
Manu Bora - 1.78
Harry Raftus - 1.44
Alex Sewall - 1.92
Oliver Cheshire - 1.72
Statistics:
Sorted data: 1.44, 1.44, 1.46, 1.62, 1.64, 1.7, 1.71, 1.72, 1.78, 1.78, 1.8, 1.81, 1.82, 1.9, 1.91, 1.92, 2.05, 2.08, 2.15, 2.37, 2.47
Summary: It seems that the ideal Midface-to-chin ratio from this is around 1.60 - 2.10 (1.85ish mean give or take a standard deviation)
Will hopefully be coming out with more ratios. Also feel free to make posts like this as well, cos the quicker we work out what ratios are ideal for aesthetics the better we can looksmax
Harmony doesn't exist. LOOKSMAXXING PROJECT to figure out the remaining ratios for facial aesthetics [GTFIH LOOKSMAXXERS]
Harmony is a cope used by those who don't know enough about makes an aesthetically pleasing face However, we know that ratios are what matter, and we can explain to a decent degree what makes someone good looking with the ratios we already have e.g. midface, es, bizygomatic/bigonial etc. But...
