is it due to muscle mass loss? if no muscle was lost on a cut then metabolism would remain the same?

There’s a saying, the faster you loose weight the faster you can gain it back.

when you're in a deficit you unconsciously move less.

Tbh it’s usually due to when people go on calorie deficit they just eat less food but still eat like shit. If you do it the right way you might be aight. I remember as a stupid like 14 year old I did a cal deficit for some reason and looked 10x worse after then I did before cos I ate straight shit

The bigger you are the more calories you need so when you get smaller you need less energy

how is that possible? r u talking facially or physique. i’d think face would always improve if you lose fat
my face looked better back then with the few extra kgs and I cut ina bad way and genuinely face was worse. I’m lean now and face ascended massively from debloating and shit. But the cal deficit eating what I want as a younger teen ruined my looks for about a year

Body is probably put into pseudo-starvation mode, maybe before it's fully acclimated to expending fat stores for fuel

but idk tbh
