Will braces fuck you up?

I've heard that wearing a bracelet can negatively affect your jawline. If this is indeed the case, could you please explain how it happens? , I would appreciate seeing some before-and-after pictures.

On another note, I've heard claims that bracelets can improve jaw alignment. Is there any truth to this? I'm considering getting a bracelet for straighter teeth, but I'm concerned it might harm my jawline.
