A Guide to Beardmax/Stubblemaxxing

Introduction
In this guide, I will be showing you how to grow a beard (or at least some facial hair) no matter your race or age. Many of these tips and techniques will also have some crossover into other maxxes such as testosterone maxxing, skinnmaxing/collagenmaxing, and even nootropics. Please note that some of these tips may damage your hairline and make you bald, however there are many things you can do to counter this (and most of these techniques you can just use on your hairline too). I plan on doing all of these methods soon, as I myself am a youngcel and mixed-race (half Asian). None of these will give you a beard in a day, so it'll require time and patience. I hope you'll enjoy this guide, it's my first post on this forum.
Most of the credit goes to BeardResource (a great blog for growing and maintaining a beard).

GOOD RESOURCES/EXTRA INFORMATION

But why grow a beard, vHenri?
- It can be used to hide a weak jawline and fraud it into a better one
- If you're a youngcel it can make you look older, which can be a HUGE looksmax (especially if you're 13-16, when almost nobody else has one)
- It can be used to hide nasolabial folds and other wrinkles
- It's a sexually dimorphic trait for males, which means you will look more masculine
- Can block UV rays/sunlight which can harm your skin, keeping your skin healthy and clear[1]
- Shaving can give you acne
- It can help you feel more confident and attractive, helping your high-inhibitions
- You can mog others who can't grow beards
- Both men and women will perceive you as more masculine, more attractive, healthier, and a better parent[2]

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY: MULTIPLE STUDIES HAVE SHOWN THAT FACIAL HAIR IS MORE ATTRACTIVE ON AVERAGE

One of the only reasons you shouldn't grow a beard is if you have a great jawline or midface, but even then you can still see it through stubble. If you're trying to prettyboymax maybe growing a beard isn't right for you either.

Alright, now what do I have to do/not do to grow a beard/facial hair?
This section will be split into Do's and Don'ts. Of course, there are other methods too, but these are the ones that we will be focusing on today.

What to do or use:
  • Minoxidil
Minoxidil has been scientifically proven to support hair growth on the face and head[3][4]. It is available in foam and liquid solutions. Pick whichever fits your needs; foam costs more but might dry your face out more, and liquid is cheaper. Apply twice a day; once in the morning and once in the evening, for a bare minimum of 4 hours. Most sources I've read have said not to use moisturize or use anything WHILE using Minoxidil, however I don't see any reason why not to. Don't forget to moisturize after (or during if you want to), as Minox can dry your face out and lead to acne breakouts cause of the alcohol. If you accidentally put too much I recommend spreading some onto your eyebrows or hairline to make those grow too.
  • Peppermint oil
Peppermint oil is a mixed bag. On one hand, it's much more effective than Minox or Jojoba oil in rat studies[5], but on the other, it has the possibility of decreasing testosterone[6] (VERY IMPORTANT: The study that showed this however made their subject ingest peppermint TEA, which is different from applying it topically.) I personally would still use this but do what you want. Apply twice a day, either as a serum or

(SA= Saline Control, JO= Jojoba Oil, MXD= Minoxidil, and PEO= Peppermint Oil)
  • Dermarolling/Microneedling
Microneedling has been proven to treat balding, Androgenetic Alopecia) in humans[7], and it is more effective than Minox. It also helps your skin produce more collagen and makes it clearer. Microneedle or dermaroll once or twice a week at either 0.5mm or 0.75mm.

A graph and a picture showing minox vs microneedling
  • Take L-Carnitine
L-Carnitine increases your androgen sensitivity[8][9] and can activate dormant hair follicles[10]. Take 2 grams of L-carnitine L-tartarate daily.
  • Take Biotin & B-Vitamins or a multivitamin
Taking care of any underlying deficiencies using a multivitamin can fix your testosterone production, keratin production, and strengthen your hair. This may not be as effective as other methods if you're healthy and reach all your vitamin intake.
  • Take Mucuna Puriens
Mucuna Puriens is a tropical legume commonly used in Ayurvedic medicine. It boosts testosterone and male fertility in rats, humans, and birds[10][11][12]. It also activates your androgen receptors[13]. Take
  • Get a facial massage
Facial massages improve circulation around your face, which may stimulate beard growth. Massage your face every day for 5 minutes
  • Exfoliate your face and beard area
Exfoliating unclogs pores and removes dead skin cells, allowing growth pathways to clear. Exfoliate with a boar bristle beard brush or a beard exfoliator. You can probably also use a chemical exfoliator such as Salicylic Acid.

What NOT to do:

  • Shave
It defeats the whole purpose of beardmaxxing?? It can also give you razor burn and acne.
  • Not sleeping enough
Repeat after me: SLEEP IS FUCKING IMPORTANT. Sleep deprivation makes your testosterone levels drop hella low[14], and your balls even fucking shrink[15]. It just makes you healthier overall. Do yourself a favor and get enough sleep. Sleep at least 7 hours and 30 minutes a night, and sleep before 11 PM (you get a cortisol spike after 11). 9 hours of sleep is recommended.
  • Stressing excessively
Stress makes your DHT and testosterone levels drop because of cortisol. Do anything to relax. Meditation, Ashwagandha, Valerian Root, and exercise are a few ways. Try not to get into bad habits such as smoking or drinking.
  • Not exercising enough/staying sedentary
Exercise boosts testosterone levels, which in turn helps beard growth[16]. (I only put one citation for this but there's plenty more). Go to the gym, start running, join a MMA class or something.
  • Being fat and not lean
Your baseline testosterone levels shoot up when you lose weight and exercise more[17]. It also helps that weight loss and gaining muscle is the #1 looksmax around. Go on a calorie-restricted diet and start exercising if you're fat. If you're skinny or underweight eat at a calorie surplus and exercise more to gain muscle.

Endnote
If you truly don't believe me and that beards and stubble is better, then check the citations below and do your own research. You'll find that you'll come to the same conclusion that I did. If you don't believe me about my methods, then check the citations and do your own research. Apart from the scientific studies mentioned in this post, there are HEAPS (and I mean fucking HEAPS) of anecdotal evidence that proves my point.
If enough people want I can also write a post on HOW this all works and how hair grows and some other stuff. If any of you have any tips on how to beardmax OR on how to write a better post please comment or send me a message.
I'm currently completely hairless on my face and I don't shave at all. When I begin my beardmaxxing journey I'll update you guys and post pics of my progress.

I mentioned that Minoxidil dries your face but I forgot to mention its effects on collagen production. You're right, it can fuck up your collagen, but you can use a moisturizer, red light therapy, collagen supplements, etc. to counter that.

BeardResource says should mix the castor oil with alcohol to make it permeate the skin better and reach the hair follicles, but I'm not sure about the accuracy of that since I pretty much haven't found any other sources saying that. Peppermint Oil probably would work better though

I dont care about collagen decrease or acne or bloat that minoxidil will give. However, i have receding hairline and dont want to make it worse. If you use minox for beard, it will not be good for your hair. That's the only thing stopping me from using it :/.

You can also use the Minoxidil on your hairline. I'm pretty sure most, if not all of these methods are applicable to your hairline too and not just your beard. On Minox, it's common for hair follicles to fall out as new growth begins so it'll get worse before it gets better.

Is there anything specific to look out for when buying ashwaghanda or valerian root? Or does any product off Amazon work the same?

Why not let is happen naturally
Because some people can't grow a beard naturally cause they're too young or have bad genetics, can only grow a patchy beard, or just want it to grow faster. If you can grow a full beard or heavy stubble then props to you

cool post thx

Great thread

Facial hair is life

I will exchange my facial hair genetics for 1psl point.

Hard blackpill to swallow: You cannot grow facial hair where there aren't any hair follicles. When there's a lack of follicles - commonly occuring in Asians and native Americans - the only way to grow a fully-covering, non-patchy beard is a transplant.

I seen many asians who use minoxdil. Dont get me wrong they have more then before they started. But they never get full beards. Some people have the follicles there already and just need minoxdil to boost it. People who used minoxdil and it worked they already the the follicle pattern it just wasnt expressed. But if you do not have the follicles only way is a beard transplant.

Can I just, you know, get a beard transplant since I have bottom of the barrel tier genetics when it comes to facial hair?

Also bump for good post.

Why stubblemaxx???

Heavy stubble is confirmed the best option for most average man. With maybe the only exception, of Chad and guys wityh a Giga/Very Good Jawline like Brad Pitt.

" - Women judged faces with heavy stubble as most attractive"
it was like a 2 week stubble:
aantekening-2019-12-05-110119-jpg.183060

* another study. showing females the faces of 36 different european men. Most of them likely normie tier faces.
Kinda same findings, as above mentioned, but a bit more indept. It also tested morped faces (more feminine and more masculine morphing of the faces).

This graph says it all basically.
Y-axis (vertical axis): shows the attractiveness rating
X-axis (horizontal axis): shows the morphing of the faces to more masculine or feminine, or unmorhped (the middle).

As you can see:
- heavy stubble on avarge always wins (the safe bet)
- light stubble is bad if you have a feminine (bitch) face; but if you have normie masculine face or masculine face it works perfectly also.
- full beard is good if you have a feminine (bitch) face or normie face; but if you have masculine face then somehow full beard doesn't work good.
- clean shaven, somehow is the worst one always (because no Chad jawline faces were in the sample size, since it's rare because most men faces not Chad).

knipsel2-jpg.183404

For definition the use for what is: light stubble, heavy stubble, full beard.
See this picture example:
knipsel3-jpg.183409

*
Another study, I read:

- The "full beard" results, on attractiveness. Is highly/significantly influenced, by how popular having a beard is by other men. When it's more popular it makes it somehow look significantly less attractive overall.
- Clean shaven, remains overall the shittiest on the attractiveness scale, no matter what other men do. Only does it become a little less shitty if alot off men go full beard.
- And the light stubble and heavy stubble, remain most attractive looking. No matter what.
knipsel4-jpg.183468

*************
as an Good example case, of a man that is by default in the normie range somewhere.
I feel ryan Gossling is a good one.

That man has plenty flaws, as wel good features facially. like most men have plenty less features/flaws.
I feel his appeal with heavy stubble is very good, but without stubble he has a decent amount less appeal/attractiveness..

While clean shaven, I think he less appeal.

there is appearently insufficient information on this, but one study showed success in treating male pattern baldness with topical application.

but minoxidil showed anti-androgenic effects in this study:
