completely resolves. minoxidil's only permanent effect is terminal differentiation of vellus hairs, which is the main reason (apart from peripheral bloat) you shouldn't use it orally for extended periods of time. collagen effect is unconfirmed, but probably reversible if it even happens.

All I know is that microneedling is only needed for increasing absorption to topically applied products. As far as I know microneedling doesn’t really do anything on its own, but i could be wrong. Obviously when taking oral there is no need to microneedle. You can use oral minox without the bloat, as mentioned here: He is more knowledgeable on the subject than me. I simply just stated the sides I experienced on it. I also got results from oral castor oil, since i think it increases PGE 2 I think which is responsible for hair growth.

Just use Eplerenone in conjunction. Minoxidil bloats you because the hyperpolarization induces an increase in sodium retention through increased aldosterone biosynthesis in order to reduce intracellular potassium.

50mg is more than enough, I say this because LDOM + spironolactone (another aldosterone antagonist that also blocks androgen receptors) is a safe treatment for female androgenic alopecia. Minox was dosed at 0.25mg and spiro was dosed at 25mg, a dosage that Eplerenone equals in terms of mineralocorticoid effects at 50mg without any risk of androgen blockade.

Running 20-80mg (above 80mg and you're fucking up your thyroid) Furosemide every saturday when going out for short-term debloating makes peripheral edema even less likely to happen.

Tried putting the theory into practice throughout this month and the last by running 50mg eplerenone for 28 days so it reached it's full effect (according to some mainstream and sketchy websites), and adding in a daily drop of topical minox (roughly 2.5mg) after said 28 days elapsed. I still got bloated like a motherfucker after a week or so.

3 days off both Minox AND Eplerenone and my ogee curve improved. Eplerenone's half-life is simply too short + debloating effects are minimal. MR antagonism also decreases collagen synthesis.

You're right, but that can also be attained with topical usage without risking hair growth literally everywhere (under the earlobe, upper back, inner forearms, biceps, traps, shoulders, weird parts of the torso, temple points connecting to outer eyebrows, etc etc etc). All that happened to me after using 5mg from january to may 2024 and I still got remnants of those hairs. You can always shave but it's still a hassle.

The only valid use for oral minoxidil is hair regrowth. In that case, I believe the benefits (reversing your hairline on the NW scale) far outweigh the downsides (water retention, theoretical collagen depletion, hypertrichosis).

So anything bloat related gets resolved after discontinuation of oral usage?

Yeah I think you’re right on the first bit. I appreciate your self conducted experiment, very useful. It was oral you used right? and not the tabs but topical minox taken orally?

I do agree that the only viable use for oral minox is maintaining hairline, it worth it. If the goal is eyebrows or lashes etc, then topical will most likely suffice without such effects or at least to a lesser degree and as you said results can be kept after some time.

It will increase hair growth yes, which includes eye lashes. Drink 5-10mL a day. Maybe work up to that dosage since it is used as a laxative. I just full sent it straight to 5-10mL and was fine, no issue.

AGA or TE are the real main causes I think. Since he said it’s not genetic (idk how he came to that conclusion since balding genes are random asf) I assumed it’s TE. He could be wrong tho and it is genetic.

Talking as someone who had previously used Oral Minoxidil for ~2 years.

It is the biggest bloatmax you can do, and results are not permanent

You may not notice the bloat, but you look at your face every single day. I only realised how much of a brutal looksmin it is after looking at older photos of me where I was higher body fat, yet somehow facially leaner.

I was doing my utmost to debloat, and coping with “carbs cause bloating”, “it’s the sodium bro”

Trying 110% to debloat, and not being as facially lean when lower body fat than when higher body fat, and not giving a single fuck about what I ate is absolutely brutal.

I quit minoxidil 2 to 3 months ago now, the bloating did go away. Took around 2 weeks to a month, I forgot. Legit ate 10k calories of goyslop and there was literally no bloat.

No, none of the results on your eyelashes and eyebrows are gonna be permanent. Only beard. Reason for that is that since Minoxidil increases hair growth through increased blood flow, the hairs get an extra “boost” to grow. Beard hairs aren’t terminal hairs yet if you don’t have a beard, so minoxidil gives them that extra “boost” to become terminal hairs. Lashes and eyebrows are already terminal hair, so the increased blood flow is increasing the hair growth, but since the hair is already terminal, it can’t become terminal again, so once the Minoxidil usage is stopped, it will simply return to its pre minoxidil state.

Hopefully that makes sense.

And I also honestly don’t recommend topical minoxidil either. It still transatlantic to an extent.

TL;DR - Minoxidil causes bloating, through fucking up sodium and potassium channels. None of its hair growth is permanent, so I can’t see why anyone would use it.

Yes, you did. I am on just Dutasteride 2.5mg a day right now, may add the ghkcu soon if there are some good studies and anecdotes about its usage for hair. I will look into it now. Why do you ask?

glad to hear brah. my lashes have improved from baseline due to minox. a good amount of them remained after discontinuing it, it’s been 4 months since i quit minox

It’s valid.

Some get dark eye cirles from it but that’s just likely due to bad application. I would only use until it becomes terminal, and then quit usage.

Just don’t use oral, no reason to unless you have astronomical amount of ground to regrow on your scalp, and even then, duta 2.5mg is shown to cause more regrowth than 5mg oral minox.

Yeah, topical taken orally. 1 drop in the morning, another at night.
