What Jews call toxic masculinity, which is men putting pressure on each other to go through rites of passage, is natural and necessary.
examples of rites of passage include
getting laid for the first time, preferably early, and building up a high notch count. chase girls. (most obvious)
getting into a group of popular boys/fraternity and drinking/socialising a lot
high school sports culture/telling boys they need to be more competitive in sports
fighting. this is a crucial one. boys don't fight any more, and are weaker for it. they end up afraid of confrontation as adults.
Men are competitive and if you coddle them/ tell them "you can do it when you feel like it", you are setting young men up to be failures. if i have a son I will flat out tell him, you HAVE to do this stuff otherwise you're failing as a man. It's just what you're supposed to do.
