I'm glad you asked. Well basically I started my own community in the Ozarks in Missouri. I started with a modest patch of land and recently expanded and recruiting family and friends that fit the criteria (Christian, white, no criminal record, useful skills, etc).

Quite possibly single forever and I'd rather die alone than be with the wrong person. With that being said I do work with different Amish communities every summer now so I would have to convince a girl to leave her family and community to join mine. It's possible but a very low probability since women very rarely leave Amish communities permanently. With that being said my community would be very similar but utilizes more technology and some other subtle differences.

Land patents are a rabbit hole and changing your status is a huge rabbit hole. I can give you the sources I used. Thankfully the process is more efficient now than when I started so it will take much less time. Freedom was my top priority and this eventually lead me to this path.
