Does consciousness exist outside of the primordial urge to reproduce?

When people talk about 'free will' i believe this is what theyre talking about it, which is wrong but whatever

however

does the prefontal cortex or 'higher' consciousness act devoid of sex and reproduction, bc essentially all other animals, their behaviours/thoughts/actions act within the purpose of sex -> reproduction -> raise child

how do we know that every thought/action we've ever done isnt in pursuit of sex/reproduction without us consciously realising it is?

for example you may think youre browsing this forum out of your own fruition but potentially this is your body attempting to get laid somehow idk
