Is scent important?

It might sound retarded, it even sounds kinda retarded to myself, but after reading the book Perfume: The Story of a Murderer I genuinely started to wonder whether scent has any importance in attraction?

I'm having difficulty telling where on the PSL scale I am, but I am definitely not as high to justify the amount of girls that approached me...
I have no clue what else could make people attracted to low PSL people, everyone of us knows some subhuman with a smoking hot girl...

Just wear deodorant. The smell perfume or cologne on someone, not at a formal thing, makes them instantly seem like a tryhard.

It's a necessity to smell good. Smelling bad is such a turn off.

Granted that if you are incel-looking, that wouldn't make any difference you'd still be considered unattractive but good hygiene is always a plus-value (when you have already reached threshold for attraction).
